Here is a logical view of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform architecture.

At the top is the Presentation layer. This is what the users see and do, be they web users, or native app users.

The Logic and Openness layer contains the application server components. This is where business logic of the platform resides. All access to the application layer is secured by SSL.

The Data layer is where the database, indexes and file content reside. The database contains meta-data, data about data, while the file content, such as CAD geometry, offices documents, and rich media files such as images and videos, reside on the file servers. Access to the files over the network can be optimized by storing the file content closer to the users, as described in the next slide.

PLM Collaboration Services: A Hands-On Workshop for CATIA V5 Users

By now you have heard about the amazing capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform … but you are using CATIA V5 or SOLIDWORKS and don’t plan to change anytime soon.  Well now you can realize the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform without migrating your existing CAD.  In this workshop, you’ll have the chance to work with CATIA V5 / SOLIDWORKS design files on the platform to experience first-hand the engineering efficiencies and collaborative potential of PLM Collaboration Services.  Available now!

The Future of Electric Vehicle Development

Dassault Systemes has developed cross-domain engineering design simulation solutions for electric vehicle development.  This technological approach can be applied continuously from:

  • the vehicle architecture phase; physical, electrical and software
  • through the concept phase and system design
  • to vehicle calibration

Thus reducing development time and costs and improving the customer’s ownership experience.

Our cross-domain electric vehicle solutions were developed to cover the entire vehicle development process, bringing together the traditional domains of; batteries, electric drives, power electronics, vehicle dynamics, energy management, and more.  Thus enabling;

Electric Vehicle Performance Optimization

  • Optimize and Validate Electric Vehicle Technology  at the conceptual stage with ready-to-use virtual models to deliver innovative solutions for vehicle performance
  • Perform energetic dimensioning to optimize key components for battery pack, power electronics and electric drivetrain

Battery cell & pack Simulation

  • Predict related battery warranty cost based on battery cell ageing simulation
  • Simulate battery cells and battery pack to prevent thermal runway and safety issues

Multi-disciplinary Optimization

Perform cross-discipline integration and simulation at vehicle level to boost multi-disciplinary convergence, select best alternatives and reduce physical testing cost

Competitive Advantage through Model Based Manufacturing

Learn how to streamline your manufacturing engineering activities with the 3DS model based engineering & manufacturing solution.  Take a digital continuity journey covering your EBOM, MBOM, routings, and electronic work instructions as we demonstrate how this diverse data can be created and managed by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and ultimately delivered to your shop floor for execution by the plant.  One of the key elements you’ll see demonstrated is how engineering changes can be easily propagated and controlled across applications and disciplines.

Finally, experience how this data can be integrated with other enterprise data in an interactive dashboard to enable collaborative, lean operations within your engineering and manufacturing organizations.
