Hello;

Does anybody know what is OSM_S244 error?

I got message while saving CATProduct file. The message says completely that;

"OSM_S244 : Cannot execute Save operation because -file name- is pointed to clipboard."

Why this message occur and how can I solve?

Thanks for your comments.

butolyun,

What Release and Service Pack are you running on?

After doing some searches the "OSM_S244" error is generated for a multiple number of scenarios.

Problem is reported to be corrected on R19 SP4.

Hello Mark;

Thank you for your input.

Yes I have also searched about this problem before typing here. I know the correction level also but my customer uses R18SP7 (or SP8) and they have to work with R18 not R19. So, I am now looking for the reason of this problem. Why or when this problem occurs? and of course what is the solution?

Any comment will be useful.

Thanks.

Butolyun,

I havent found what the actual meaning of OSM is. It is another one of the cryptic DS message codes. I'll take a wild guess and say it means "Operating System Message". On all the apars related to the message code, the problem always occurs when a File/Save operation is attempted. Usually when an "Edit" saving something to the clipboard is performed (copy or paste), the error will occur when trying to do a File/Save. HD70810 is indicating that the problem should be corrected in R17 SP8 and R18 SP4. Also, please indicate if your customer is running 32 or 64 bit.

Here is the scenario reported in HD70810........

1. Open the "Sample.CATPart".
2. Select the "Body.123" and select the "Copy"
from the contextual menu.
3. Select the "Part.1" and select the "Paste" from
the contextual menu. Update Diagnosis appears.
Click Close on this panel.
4. Select the "File / Save". OSM_S244 error
appears and cannot save the data.

I've seen this a few times, don't know what causes it but if you perform a clean on the file it usually allows you to save it.
