Does anyone know how to change the arrow sizes (properties maybe), in the drafting module?
Thanks, Jim and Nacho

Dimension arrow sizes are dictated by the drawing standards format XML file. See topics here concerning drawing standards updates to see how to do this.

Well the supposed technique is to:
Select the arrow (along with the leader) and right click to open up the dialoge box.
> select properties
> click the MORE... icon -wait for the properties to populate, which adds more options -
> Select DressUp (node)
> Select Symbols (node)
> Select the Filled arrow (node)
> Select the Length/angle (node)
> change the value
> click on OK
Problem: the value is shaddowed out, and can not be changed, not even in the XML files!
Reminder: DSys says, in their online help docs, that the user are allowed to change the values using this method.

Jim
You need to have administration privileges, then you can change anything you want in the xml file. I have been using Catia for about 1 year now and had to go thru the entire setup for our standards. It is tedious.
Good luck.

One way around the problem is to put the arrow in a 2D component then scale it when you instantiate it. If you use this method, I have another trick - after creating the view on the detail sheet but before creating the arrow, put a point at the origin of the detail view, then create the arrow by clicking on this point twice. Catia will then create the arrow horizontally with no tail and the tip at the origin.

You don't need Windows Admin, you just need write permission to the directories pointed to by CATReferenceSettingsPath and by CATCollectionStandards. Then fire up CATIA in Admin Mode, and edit away. Talk to your Systems Admin to get theses settings changed.

Bear in mind, however, that these settings are global. For some reason DS has seen fit to provide us with only one arrow size in V5. I find this very strange, as we use arrows of varying sizes for various purposes on the face of our drawings. We have had to resort to creating several Drafting Details that we have placed into our Drafting Catalog.

Yes, you are right. It is very tedious and time consuming.
