It's time again to look at "hot topics" for the spring 2006 COE. The following items were submitted to the COE office this week in response to their request for items. Even tough the deadline for submitting this information has passed, we still have a chance to get additional topics on the list. Bear in mind that there is no guarantee that what we ask for will come to pass as sessions at the conference. But if we don't ask, there is no chance of getting what we need in the way of speakers. So please put together your list of session you would like to see as soon as possible and post them here. Here then is what has already be propose ... Scott

Infrastructure Domain, KBE PIC

- Showcase the possibilities that the KBE tools offer. Compare and contrast the tools based on the automation to be done.

- Should KBE application development activities fall under IT or R & D or elsewhere? What drives an organization to make a particular choice?

- For each KBE tool in V5, under what circumstances does one apply the tool? What philosophy and tools are others using to manage the applications that are created and deployed? What is the KBE application lifecycle?

- What is the 5 to 10 year direction of PLM (CAD) in general? What emerging technologies such as “Functional Modeling” are likely to come into play? What is the follow-on product to CATIA V5?

- What experiences have member companies had with Engineering Analysis and Knowledgeware integration?

- How are member companies capturing best practice knowledgeware processes within ENOVIA and reused within lifecycle and across programs.

Engineering Domain

- Customer or Dassault showcase that illustrates Solid Part & Assembly design with Knowledgeware along with Engineering Analysis & Simulation. We’re looking for the linkage across product domains preferably by different functional groups working concurrently on the same all up product(s) including, if possible, a manufacturing example.
