KBE is a big and fun topic. So, we need a very large bandwidth.
To support the efforts at development (crystallization) of the more general viewpoints that are going to be of growing importance in the future (it is my opinion), I put a KBE page at Wiki (see Knowledge Based Engineering).
The COE folk are at the fore-front of the KBE wave, I believe, at the moment anyway. So, we ought to lead the discussions.
The idea will be to get these ‘meta’ things out of the way of the operational issues.
Essentially, what we have so far is this type of split (my definition – looking for feedback, participation) where there will be further categorization as we go along.

Operational – this focus is related to KW (CATIA) specifics as they exist in the different releases.
Extensions – this area covers futures plus current issues such as differences between KBE in regard to PLM versus CAX.
General (for want of a better word for now) – this area is the umbrella/multi-disciplinary view that pertains to everything (theory, too) as Brian said in his article
Now, to participate in the evolving the pages at Wiki, all you have to do is register (it’s free).
For motivation, consider that you will be helping to write the ‘definitive’ (perhaps even seminal) elucidation of this important field.

---- This is a repeat of the above note which had formatting problems. The solution from what I see is to work in an editor (in this case, Word) and make sure that I copy/paste the entire text. Plus, 'Preview' probably is always in order.
