Has anyone used the multi-cad plugin to convert UG parts to V5 format? According to the documentation, it should be converting UG GD&T entities as well. I can get it to convert UG parts to CATPart but there are no GD&T symbols. All necessary licenses seem to be present. V5R17SP1HF16 and NX4 of UG. Thanks...

Dear Fighter Pilot, Typically these systems do not translate drawing data at all, where you expect to find GD&T. Both UG and Catia have instituted GD&T data in the 3D model itself. Check your literature and see if the plugin is looking for that "GD&T". Greg

Sorry, I wasn't talking about drawings. I'm talking about taking UG parts which have 3D GD&T entites and translating them into V5 format while automatically maping those GD&T entities over to V5 FT&A entities. A quote from the documentation: UG NX3.0 Indirect translator supports the conversion of UG GD&T entities in CATPart link mode. UG annotations present in part and assembly level will be converted to Functional Tolerance and Annotation entities at the part and product level respectively. Annotations will be supported at Graphic Semantic Level. The following capabilities will be available for annotations imported from UG: Object Typing. 3D display. Individual Show/No-show. Special properties access (3D position, 3D direction, Comments, etc). 3D manipulation (position, orientation). Text areas edition. Graphic properties modification (font, size, etc). The UG annotations can be on the pre-defined standard planes or any user defined planes as well.

It certainly looks like the 3D GD&T from UG ought to go over to Catia, according to text you posted. I'll ask around here to see if anyone has actually been successful at it. Perhaps another reader has and can confirm back. I'll get back to you if I find something. Else, good luck.
