Hello all,
I just ended a test phase on the ELYSIUM solution : CADFeature.
The goal for us is to be able to convert data from a V5 release to another one (mainly dead geometry).
I tested various scenarios (only part, products, iso-release conversion, different releases conversion,.....) but I am not convinced by the efficiency of this tool.
I made a comparison with STEP (batch or interactive)and STEP is always better than CADFeature in termes of processing time.
I tested on solid or surface geometry. Conversion quality is OK with STEP (no data lost) and some parts that CADFeature is not able to convert are correctely processed with STEP.
Does anyone have any experience using this solution??
Is anyone using a good tool that provides good results?
Thaks for your replis |

| Have you researched the Proficiency software. It is similar to CADfeature. However I have one concern, if you are benchmarking a feature based converter against STEP you are kind of comparing apples and oranges. |

Hello DATAex,
I agree that CAD Feature and Step are not really comparable. But basically, what we are looking for, is an efficient tool (good quality, good performances) to make this sort of conversions. Currently, what gives the best result is STEP, even if there is not correction made on files, and even if it is not a feature based converter. So, I do not care the process used for conversion as long as the final result is OK. That's why I compared only processing time and file's quality.
We also are looking the Proficiency way, still in investigation because the last time we had a marketing guy on phone, I did not want use to test the tool in our own files !! |
