Thanks for your contribution. Unfortunately I can't look at it.

Why? because for some reason you using the proprietary RAR format?
The unrar that is available with my Debian Linux cannot read it. And I am not about to install an unrar tool off the web on my windows machine. And a lot of folks here cannot install software at all on their (work) Catia machines even if they wanted to so they will never be able to open it.

I suggest you use zip or just rename it with a CATPart.txt extension and then attach it directly to your post. That way you will get maximum exposure for your work.

Have a nice day.

You are right Cliff but anyway...... http://www.7-zip.org/ (and you can find also a "portable" version).

Hello,

It's great because i'm drawing a shaft with a bevel and splines.

Concerning the splines, i'm very interesting in the way you have build the parametric gear namely the profile dentures. Can you detail the main steps you have made to build your gear. Indeed, the constructin of splines will be very closed a parametric gear. You say tha it's a paramtric gear. Is ther a possibility to enter the different main dimension as radius, angle... not diretly on the sketch but directly from a excel sheet for example ?

For the moment, i'm designing the sketch. I have made a process to build the teeth gear (involution function) from a circle. For one angle, i calculate the distance the point i need to put on the line (distance=angle*radius). (see the 2 files in the document attached). To complete the drawing, once a point is calculated, how i can project it on the plan xy. I tried 3D projection object but i haven't managed.

Thank you in advance for your help and sorry for my bad english.

A+

Ben

Hi, guys!

For all of you who are interested in gear design in Catia. Have a look at http://gtrebaol.free.fr/doc/catia/bevel_gear.html

I think it could be just what you are looking for
