Hi!

It is really helpful to rename the features in the tree when working with Catia. I am used to add to fillets and drafts the value. Instead of “Fillet.5” I write “Fillet.5 R10” or “Draft.1 7Deg”. I am guessing that it can be done with a script that would work through the whole tree and modify the default names.

Is there anybody out there who has a such script and wish to share it? I would appreciate it.

Question #2

Scenario A

Lets say, I wan to create a plane and do as follows: plane, context menu “through three points”, context menu “create points” etc. etc. In the end I will get only one feature in the tree: plane. This plane could be expanded and I will get a subtree with the parent elements nested within. This way the main tree stays neat and well arranged.

Scenario B

On the other hand, if I will start with creating the parents first, I will not get a nested tree structure. All elements will be visible on the same main branch. Now the actual question, is there a way or a command to automatically rearrange the tree and hide the parent elements within the children features (so the tree will look like in scenario A)?
