Hello

is there a way to generate a box according to the maximal dimensions of a catpart (or a catproduct) shown when using the inertia mesurment tool?

best regards

not sure about Products, but there are a couple ways with Parts.....

1. if you have an NC license, there's a tool called Rough Stock that will generate the part boundaries. This tool will draw a six-sided box for you.

2.as you show in your attached picture, you can display a Bounding Box when you do an Inertia Measure. Make sure the Principle Axis is turned on, and the origin and lengths of the Bounding Box are displayed at the bottom of the tree (as BBO and BBLx, BBLy, and BBLz) as measured normal to the principle axis. From this information you can draw your own box.

3. since neither of the above 2 methods are the smallest size, you could write a little script to calculate the smallest size, and draw the box. You could also add a minimum amount of extra stock.
