Update Diagnosis window:"Error: Edge or Face not found"      (it's the limit plane of a hole...)

me->select hole feature and click edit

Warning dialog: "Feature Definition Error: One of the limits can't be used"

me-> OK (hit enter)

Warning dialog: "Feature Definition Error: You must specify a plane or planar surface for one of the limits"

me-> OK (hit enter)

FINALLY: I get the the hole edition window where I can change the hole to blind

I have 8 of these holes to update AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

The warning dialogs seem to be promulgating everywhere with terminator like determination.

And it hurts my productivity ($$)

I wish there was some sort of "light" warning messages mode where these things I already know are not shown.

Here's an idea: How using the little message bar at the bottom of the screen - the one that nobody looks at  because the default text is so tiny - to show the warnings? Turn the background bright yellow and let me click it to see more information.  And have a way to scroll back throught the warnings.. something that is missing now.

Thanks for listening.Get back to work.

I agree Cliff. There's some messages that are really ridiculous.

How about an environment variable that could turn off error messages. Something like this concept but one to disable ALL warning messages. Of course we'd be flying blind in some cases, but I'd rather fly blind than have so many damn messages that are meaningless.

I also get irritated with these especially with the error messages that require me to click through before I can fix the problem. What would make more sense is to bring up the error message with the necessary input window.

I'd fear killing error messages all together though. Too many times I've had folks just blindly click the error message and then seek me out to find out what was wrong. Upon reinitiating their actions, and actually reading the error message, we've often solved the problem.

However, this probably just points to the larger issue of giving pertinent warnings instead of warnings for everything.

I really like the idea that warnings could be put in the status bar (Bottom left).
Errors could still pop up, but warnings would go away...
Dassault, please improve your product!

What about being able to customize error status

Visual Studio Visual Basic.Net 2005 = Best Error Handling ever

Visual color coding to indicate errors
On-the-fly dynamic help pane that automatically jumps to relevant help doc when typing code
Hover interactive tool tips that can be scrolled and expanded when viewing code or errors

I totally agree with the ideas presented here (particularly putting warnings in the tooltips), but I'd settle for not having to hit "OK" to make warnings/errors go away. Let them pop up, and I can ignore them while I fix them and once I hit "OK" on my dialog box the "Update All" fires and the warnings/errors go away automatically. Basically, they can pop up all they want, just don't give them "Forced Focus". The "update diagnosis" box works this way. I think ALL warnings and MOST errors should also work this way as well.

Down with forced focus!
