Hi

I would like design a bicycle chain with sprocket and links, in a Product.

is Posible use a pattern to the links?

Some example?

Thank you

Your parts of the chain have to be in separate part body files. Two arms and one pin brought into a Product. Pattern is not the correct verbiage but "Fast Multi Instantiation" (Ctrl+D) will speed file input a bit. Each contact point needs to be constrained and "Flexible Sub-Assemblies" constraints placed on axle and arms. Get ready to do a lot of constraining. Ps. you still need to work out the Kinematic ratio's of the gearing. Good luck MJ

In Solidworks there is a patern on curve, I can not think that catia does´nt have a solution like that.
I follow looking for

Thank you

If you put a point on the curve you have the option to "repeat the object after ok" then the "Points and Planes Repetition" window opens to allow you to input your instances.

But with that solution you build the chain in a CATPart, I want to built it in a Product to use it with DMU Workbench.

I think your solution isn´t valid. For me, of course. Sorry

Amachete you've not explained your self if the solution is not valid. My first reply clearly states "Product" ? Your next question is not even related to your original issue, it might to you but you did not explain it as such so its just another question. No worries I hope I can help you. Guessing as to what you want the points on a curve for, I am assuming that you are trying to use the crv as a path for your chain and the points may be a position for links? If so you need not the crv but constraints using the assy work bench. If you use a crv to assist you in your chain path do not constrain it to the crv or pnts because when you simulate it, it will be over constrained. Are you simulating a kinematic movement? If not, make the crv with pnts constrain the link pin to the pnts and your done. MJ
