Hi i have been experiencing problems lately with catia. Like whenever i use it for a long while or i put in too much info, my catia will distort. Like the buttons they disappear and if you drag your mouse over it you see it frame by frame like its lagging. I can save it but itll take many presses on the save button for the window to show up. Anyone have an idea.

Offhand, it sounds like your machine is overheating. If it's a laptop, this can be easy to notice by how loud the fan gets and of course, the underside would be uncomfortably hot to the touch (*note* the 290 is a desktop card, so I suppose this doesn't apply). If this is a desktop, it's also entirely possible it's overheating, but would be due to a defective seal between your CPU and heat sink, or your video cards GPU and its heat sink. I suppose it could also be your motherboard overheating or RAM, but it's less likely. If you know what you're doing, you could touch each of these components in a 'safe' location to check their temperature, but if they really are overheating you WILL burn yourself (if you decide on this lazy way of testing, i suggest the use of a kleenex to protect your skin, and your components, but I'm NOT advocating it). A safer bet is to download a temp gauge and install it. CoreTemp is a free program you should be able to obtain to check your CPU temps. Your graphics card/mobo manufacturer may have their own software to check those.

Aside from that, I don't have any other offhand suggestions except try updating your graphics drivers.

I do use core temp and my temps are really low. im at 28° idle. This is also happening on another workers computer and these computer are really new. I dont think heat is the problem. Can it be something with the graphic acceleration

I can not find your graphics card on the supported list from Dassault. What driver revision and version-SP of Catia are you running. You may have to roll back the drivers to a stable release level.

Whats the link that shows you the supported graphics card. I think these drivers are stable

I'd try upgrading the ram to 4gb with the windows switch to use more than 3gb.
Ram is cheap and I crash a lot more with low ram.

Hi

The problem with icons dissappearing is something I had problem with.

I found this patch (KB319740) that seems to have fixed the problem on my laptop.

The patch is from Microsoft. You can also try (when the icons dissappear) switching to classic mode in windows instead of XP mode.

Hope it helps
