Analyze -> Build Of Material

Save As .xls = empty excel file

Save As .txt = all data in text file.

Does anyone know how to fix it so that the save as .xls works?

I reported a similair problem to DS, but they said that they couldn't reproduce the error. Case closed.

My problem is that the xls file of a design table is also completly empty. Workaround for me is to save it as a textfile and than read in the textfile in an excel file that I link to the original part. For now it's oke by me.

We also have the problem with the BOM file. The workaround for the bom is similair. Save the file as html and open it in excel.

Good luck

Which is the CATIA level? 64 bit?
APAR HD63733 (http://www.gehrytechnologies.com/catiaPDr17sp8/apar_closed_sp7.htm) solves it on R17SP07.

At the moment we are on R16, but we are planning to go to R19 in a couple of weeks. No 64 bits yet.

To the best of my knowledge, it is a Windows XP update that causes this. We had pretty much narrowed it down to Windows XP Service Pack 3, too. I am not 100% sure of this, but  one of 5 machines that was still on SP2 was still making BOM's for Excel with no problems. This was only on 32 bit machines, and the problem went away when we updated to 64 bit boxes.

SP6 of R18 will correct the blank XLS file on 64bit

You might want to create a blank XLS file in a desired folder and then overwrite that blank file when you save from Analyze BOM. I am not sure if this will help you.
