We have been using SmarTeam for several years in a multi-site configuration, some sites have database and vault, others get data remotely. Those remote sites that do not have either the database or vault are now having significant issues since the installation of CISCO WAAS devices. The WAAS is a WAN accelerator and is intended to increase the effective bandwidth of the WAN. Since installation, when a user requests an assembly he/she will only get a single CATPart. The next request will bring another CATPart. Obviously this is very frustrating to the remote user.
If the user opens up Windows explorer the location of the SmTemp files on the server, the file transfer works fine. We have made the following changes to the ST config with no impact.
LIFE_CYCLE.LifeCycleOperationTimeOutInMinutes – set to 2 minutes
