I am currently soliciting those interested in starting SMARTEAM User Groups. Please contact me via e-mail. We have drafted a charter for a midwest USA group based near Detroit, as we could probably get meeting space at my MSC offices or at IBM. To access this charter, either to provide feedback, as a discussion point, or to foster ideas for other groups, see http://pcp01200074pcs.watrfd01.mi.comcast.net:880/MiSTUG

I don't know why you weren't able to access it. You could also try it at its current IP address:
http://68.60.164.248:880/MiSTUG
The only problem is that the IP address might change, since it is not fixed...
Anyhow, the main things we want to accomplish with a SMARTEAM UG are:
1. Foster grass-roots support for the SMARTEAM user community
2. Develop a direct communication channel from end customers to Dassault Systemes
We will do this by:
a. Develop a searchable knowledge base on the web
b. Develop a library of scripts and programs to expand the functionality of SMARTEAM
c. Have guest speakers on topics of interest
d. Foster close vendor relationship by having group oversight and management from Dassault and IBM
In the past, I was president of several computer-related associations, so I borrowed a charter from one and modified it to provide for some framework of rules.
Although I provide for a membership fee in the charter, it has been suggested that there is no membership fee, and donations are collected at the door (like $2 or so) to provide for a petty cash collection to cover incidentals.

What do you do with TeamPDM/SMARTEAM? I am responsible for consulting with customers to help them implement PLM solutions. I've been working with SMARTEAM for 1 1/2 years now, and I love it.

We are starting using SmarTeam with CATIA for constructing aircrafts. We are using Team PDM since april 2002. I'm led programmer in our company and one of directions of my work is writing SmarTeam scripts (do you remember my question about updating of tree of docs? :).

Vladislav, I was thinking "Da" -- of course, my focus will be to get one going in the Michigan, USA area, but whatever we do here will help to start new groups in other areas.

I think that in Russia are not enough users of SmarTeam for creating RUG. Do you have another information? :)
