We have been using V5 since October 1999, V5 R2. We have Smarteam and have been using it since then as well. Our problem is the legacy of part and assembly files. We are currently on V5 R9 SP3 and have been loading new releases and service packs as they become available. The drawings were done in different releases over this time and released for each part or sub-assembly we make. If I want to use one of these early parts for an assembly and it's read from the Smarteam vault there will always be an "update" needed. I have no revision change to make for these part drawings so I can't check it out, run the cleaner on it, update the drawing, save it and check it back in.
This is a Smarteam and Catia challange.
New releases of Catia are causing old part and drawing files to need cleaning and updates. How can I do this without having a reason to check out released drawings from Smarteam?
