Subject: Error creating new Smarteam DB

Greetings. I'm having trouble creating a new Smarteam DB
inside an Oracle database. I'm trying to create it from a
template using the Data Model Designer. It connects to the
database just fine, spends ten or fifteen minutes creating
tables, then dies with a dialog box that says "Error No.
00005, General Database Error". The dialog has a button
called DbError that gives more info. It says:

#-2147467259 Data type is not supported. Source=Microsoft
OLE DB Provider for Oracle SQLState= NativeError=0.
#-2147467259 Oracle error occurred, but error message could
not be retrieved from Oracle. Source=Microsoft OLE DB
Provider for Oracle SQLState= NativeError=0. #-2147467259
Unspecified error Source=Microsoft OLE DB Provider for
Oracle SQLState= NativeError=0.

I verified that there were tables created, with rows loaded
into many of them. Also, I get the exact same error if I try
to connect to the DB from the Smarteam client at this point.

I am a complete newcomer to Smarteam...does anyone know what
to do about this, or how to proceed debugging it? Thanks...

I have the same problem when I try to upgrade the SmarTeam DB from R16 to R18.

After having installed all the SmarTeam Core services and the Oracle DB,

1. I import the Oracle dump successfully (no warnings).
2. I launch the SmarTeamWizSrcUpgradeWizard.exe
3. I launch a Data Model Designer (Modify) and just at the end the operation crashs !?

Error No: 00005
General database error. Please notify your System Administrator. 'DB_NAME'

DB Error:
#-2147217900 ORA-01031: insufficient privileges Source=OraOLEDB SQLState=NativeError=1031.

For your information, I use Oracle 10.2.0

Please advice if you know the solution...
