The best method I have found so far is by adding text associated with the dimension.

1. Select the text icon and pick the dimension you want it associated to.
2. enter your desired text followed by 4X
3. then a space after the 4X
4. Select the insert symbol icon (it shows 3 GDT symbols) and select your desired symbol.
it will be placed within the text, 4X. Select ok.
5. Now you can position the text in front of you dimension. It should be associated with the dimension.
6. If not select your text, right mouse and select positional link, create, then select the dimension or text to associate to and click it.

Sounds tedious but I have not found away to insert a symbol thru the propeties, dimension text menu yet.

If anyone knows of a better way please inform us.

I hope this has not been to confusing.

If you cannot call me I can call you if you are in the US.

Thanks Wayne, that works great. I appreciate your help.

I can't believe it's this difficult to accomplish what should a very simple drafting function. Good thing I get paid by the hour.

You Welcome.
It is cumbersome but works. Good luck
Do you know how to inherit values, tolerances etc? For example you have several dimensions that when first placed on the drawing are at the default setting but you want it changed to the same as another dimension?

It is a new one I was told by another user.

Select the dimensions you want to edit, then select the paintbrush icon (Copy Object Format) then select dimension you want them to resemble. Thats it.
