Dear all

i am storing cat assy's in my PC. When i try to open the same from catia it takes unusally long time to load the assy.  If i open on a different PC over network it takes still longer time to load.

I am using HP xw9300 workstation (with 4GB RAM) with windows XP SP2. i have also enabled /3GB  switch

Our system admin is unable to find out the problem. all other application like MS office load faster.

Is there any hardware tuning to be done to load faster.

Thanks

regards

Hi,

Can you check virtual memory allocation. make a seperate drive with 6gb space and assign it for paging purpose give permission to only system for that drive. it will improve your performance

Thanks

KSS,

How big is your assembly? Also, by unusually long time to load is it 5min, 10 mins, 30 mins? We have some assemblies that take 5 mins to load. These are very big and complex with 70,000 parts. File size plays a big role in how quickly CATIA will load something. Also you might want to check there is a patch for the 3GB Switch that might help you. You might also check that XP is set to best performance option.
