TRACKS

Session Tracks

Learn about Technology, Process & Functions in the breakout sessions that are organized into various threads for your convenience.  You can customize your learning experience by selecting different education paths to fit your needs.

Data Management and Exchange
This track will facilitate multiple examples of data management and exchange including data migration within PLM solutions. Managing vast amounts of data requires a PLM solution; learn implementation tips and techniques from others who have already entered this realm. Learn how to harness the power of real-time collaboration with CATIA. Attendees will also have the opportunity to evaluate current and future data management and exchange techniques.

Engineering Analysis and Simulation
Breakout sessions included in the EAS thread are focused on the processes, methods, and tools for the analysis and simulation of products. Typical sessions describe end-user scenarios of how realistic simulations are developed to depict a product's physical behavior including static, dynamic, mechanical, and thermal operating-load environments, as well as the performance of ergonomic studies for a product's assembly, operation, and maintenance. Techniques that are covered include finite element analysis of structural components, fluid dynamics, kinematics, multibody dynamics, multidisciplined optimization of a product's shape, performance, cost, and knowledge-based engineering as related to the functional performance of a product. Best practices are shared for virtually simulating and optimizing products by accommodating multiple concurrent, and generally conflicting, operational requirements of a product.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing track will follow your entire manufacturing processes from concurrent product definition to complete machine tool path generation. Our topics focus on solving your challenges, whether it's an implementation on a large scale or generating, simulating, and optimizing tool paths from various domain experts. We will explore these experiences and technologies using Dassault Systèmes manufacturing products.

Product Definition

The product definition track covers the software and processes for product and tooling development from conceptual design to release. Sessions will address optimizing your design practices to maximize the performance of CATIA and the CAA partner products. Topics include a product development view of optimizing engineering information for a PDM, V5 Deployment, and meeting the needs of the extended enterprise.

Systems and Application Administration

In systems and application administration, you will learn techniques for deploying and maintaining a CATIA V5 environment and learn how to set up high availability licensing to reduce exposure to license server problems. You will also have the opportunity to learn about advanced techniques for training the users in the effective use of the Dassault Systèmes products, along with advances in Knowledge Based Engineering to capture and reuse corporate expertise.

Industry Specific

This track will consist of Roundtables and Breakout sessions focused on Shipbuilding & Plant Design (SPD), Automotive (AUTO), Aerospace (AERO), Small & Medium Enterprises (SME), Academic (AC).

Aerospace PLM
Part of being in the Aerospace industry is understanding rocket science, but you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to take advantage of the knowledge shared during the Aerospace thread at this year’s conference.
Session topics will share experiences in designing aircraft with global design teams and finding solutions to tough design challenges.  Join us as we see how others have used the Dassault Systemes product suite to boldly go where no one has gone before.

Training and Education
The Training and Education track features sessions about training technology covering the “art of training” and academia covering discussion relating to the use of CATIA in colleges and universities.

COE
University
The sessions in the COE University track not only include detailed product information, but also best practices and operational process methods. Live demonstrations are one delivery method, while many are offered in classroom settings, providing an excellent hands-on experience.
