Product Function (DPC) Sessions

The COE Product Function (DPC) Sessions exist is to assure that the CATIA users’ needs for enhanced functionality are properly communicated to the Dassault Systèmes developers. This includes Enhancement Requests as well as Top Strategic Requirements.

This session will present the CATIA Strategy for Fluid systems from Logical to Physical Design. The latest improvements of CATIA V5 and V6 Equipment & Systems products will be covered, including the new V6R2010X Live user experience for Piping & Tubing 3D Design with contextual commands that allow direct 3D manipulation for a  productive and simplified design process. Other topics as Specification driven 3D tubing design or component based Piping & Tubing data model in ENOVIA V6 will be included.

DPC-CMP-W Composites (CMP) DPC Working session covers new and future developments of V5Composites products and processes. DS will discuss new functionality in upcoming releases of CATIA. This portion of the session is CLOSED to software vendors and affiliates. DPC-CMP-S Composites (CMP) DPC Strategy session explores current (V5R20  and V6) capabilities of the Composite Part Design/Manufacturing workbench covering functions used in part design- manufacturing preparation processes of a laminate. Enhancement request status will be  reviewed by DPC chairs and DS. Current manufacturing functionalities and improvements will be discussed. This session is OPEN to all COE attendees.

DPC-DAI SW: Vision of the Future & Future Requirements: Data Exchange & Interoperability CATIA V4 & V5 Translators

Enhancement request status will be discussed and reviewed by the DPC chairs and the Dassault Systemes development team. Electro-Mechanical Engineering session will illustrate how DS V6 Electrical products shorten the electrical design process by supporting the lifecycle from Requirements and requirements decomposition to physical 3D wire harness routing and manufacturing documentation. CATIA V6 PLM electrical products take benefits of ENOVIA V6 Requirement Functional Logical Physical product definition to support a highly collaborative design process that facilitates the management of all electrical data. Dassault Systèmes will be giving you a teaser of what's coming in CATIA V6R2011 with the new electrical logical design product that leverage the CATIA Systems product portfolio. CATIA Electrical Logical Editor will provide the electrical logical data model in the PLM database in order to enable an integrated logical to physical electrical process (as an infrastructure for electrical CAA partners and logical specifications for generative CATIA physical wire harness design). CATIA V5R20 improvements in the electrical domain will be presented as well.

A key objective of Dassault Systemes Knowledgeware Product Suit is to offer CATIA users strong opportunities to quantify and integrate their competitive knowledge, heuristics rules and design process within an unified PLM Framework. CATIA Knowledgeware suit provides a number of tools for capturing all sorts of knowledge -- from product definition/inception to manufacturing/production. Strategic applications of such tools bring direct results such as increase of the productivity, capturing of mundane (repetitive) tasks, preservation and sharing of critical expertise in the company, dramatically increase in the reuse of the best practices, thus leaving more time for innovation and NPD. The strategy session will explain the role of the different Knowledgeware products within 3D PLM and detail the basic scenarios that can be implemented with your solutions. Presentations and process oriented demonstrations will provide attendees with all necessary information concerning the latest CATIA release (V6). During this session, uniquely dedicated to the Sheetmetal workbenches, the current status and the future development strategy of the CATIA products related to design and manufacturing of Sheetmetal parts will be presented. The session will focus on the review of the latest available version of CATIA (V5R19 & V6) for sheetmetal applications, with demonstrations. Next, attendees will be given the opportunity to express, gather, and prioritize requirements relevant to the future evolution of the tools.
