| 601 (SYS): Maximizing CATIA Performance with Large Assemblies |
| Richard Healy, IBM Corporation
When working with large assemblies in CATIA V5, there are a number of settings, practices, and other factors which influence the graphics performance and interaction speed experienced by end users. For the end-user and administrator alike, knowing what options are available, what effect they have, and how to implement them, is invaluable to getting the most performance and productivity out of CATIA V5 with large assemblies. This session will review CATIA settings, end-user practices, hardware, and operating system considerations which affect the performance of CATIA when working with large assemblies.

| 602 (KBE): Corporate Knowledge Reuse |
| Julia Waterbury, Cessna Aircraft Company
In this insightful session, attendees will see first-hand how Cessna Aircraft uses CATIA’s Knowledgeware products to capture, store, and re-use corporate data across their enterprise. Julia Waterbury will walk attendees through identifying the right component for knowledge capture, using Knowledge Advisor (KWA) to capture the corporate knowledge embodied in that component, and finally packaging and deploying the intelligent component through Product Knowledge Templates (PKT). Users will also see some ROI numbers that will show them the real value of capturing and re-using corporate knowledge through CATIA’s Knowledgeware products.

| 604 (SYS): The Life of a CATIA V5 CATSettings Administrator |
| Laura Boyle, LM Aeronautics – Fort Worth
The CATIA V5 CATSettings, known by users as the Tools->Options attributes, allows a greater freedom for user customization of their CATIA V5 environment. With this freedom also comes the job of maintaining and configuring these files to ensure optimum performance and setup of user’s CATIA V5 session based on design discipline, program, site, and 3rd party application usage. This is where a CATSettings administrator comes in handy. This presentation will discuss the life of a CATSettings Administrator at LM Aero: from the challenges of designing the LM Aero CATSettings architecture, the process of making CATSettings modifications, and the challenge of migrating CATSettings for each CATIA Release. Also, some lessons learned on how some CATSettings can adversely affect your users CATIA V5 session when they modify their CATSettings.

| 609 (SYS): Real-time Collaboration With IBM License Use Management (LUM) Experts |
| Rick Jones, IBM Corporation
The licensing environment for a CAD/CAM system is a necessary part of the overall system’s ability to function. Understanding the workings of the license environment and choosing the right licensing tools to gather key information for administrative needs brings about questions sometimes difficult to find answers to. At past COE events, many LUM questions have been asked outside of the breakout sessions. To benefit all those interested, this Q&A session was prepared by a LUM Developer and a PLM Tech Support Rep to discuss some frequently asked questions. A good portion of this session will be reserved for your questions.
