Develop & Deploy Workshop Returns in 2008 – Register Today
Are you or someone you know involved on the IT side of CATIA and PLM? If so, the COE 2008 Workshop – Develop & Deploy is just for you. This workshop, held immediately following the COE 2008 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair, May 1-2 at the Walt Disney World® Swan and Dolphin Resort, is targeted at mangers and technicians who are responsible for developing applications to automate CATIA and PLM processes and for installing and deploying CATIA and PLM products.

The COE 2008 Workshop – Develop & Deploy education is broken down into three tracks: PDM/Server Deploy, MCAD/Client Deploy and Develop.
Track: PDM Deploy
Attendees will be exposed to a broad range of topics related to the implementation of a PDM server environment. The full range of PDM applications from Dassault Systèmes including ENOVIA 3dLive, MatrixOne, VPLM and SmarTeam will be covered at breakout and hands-on training sessions at the 2008 Develop & Deploy workshop.
Subject matter experts from a variety of industries will address server selection, implementation as well as software deployment and tuning.
There will be opportunities to share ideas on methods & technologies used to link disparate PDM applications together and provide enhanced capabilities to the users of your PDM implementation. Topics to improve system reliability and availability will also be on the agenda.

- Hands-on or breakout sessions related to the deployment of the two new members of the Dassault Systèmes Enovia portfolio.
- Deployment and implementation of Enovia 3d Live
- Deployment and implementation of Enovia MatrixOne

- Tips, hints & techniques for establishing a scalable & robust ENOVIA V5 VPLM LCA and /or SmarTeam environment

Track: MCAD/Client Deploy
Attendees will be exposed to a broad range of topics related to the implementation and deployment of CATIA and PLM Clients to the desktop. Hot topics covered in sessions in this track include:
- 64 Bit CATIA, Benefits in Performance & Robustness
- Hardware Benchmarking
- Running CATIA V4 on PCs from remote UNIX clients
- Deployment methods for DS applications
Track: Develop
This track focuses on all aspects of developing applications for the complete line of Dassault product offerings, including CATIA V5, CATIA V4, ENOVIA VPM, ENOVIA LCA, and SMARTEAM. This includes topics around Knowledgeware rule development, PowerCopy development, CATScripting, RADE, CATGEO, IUA, GII, etc. Target audiences for this track include application developers or managers of applications development groups from large OEMs with significant IT organizations, to IT development consulting companies, to single employee supplier shops.

COE Award of Merit
The COE Award of Merit is conferred annually to honor outstanding individuals from COE member companies, who in the judgment of Honor Awards Committee, have made valued, balanced contributions to the COE professional activities and growth. The Award of Merit is conferred upon an individual – not the individual’s company. The emphasis is on the person’s accomplishments as an individual rather than his/her company.

COE College of Fellows Award

COE 2008 Call for Board of Directors and Nominations Committee Members
COE's annual elections will take place at the COE 2008 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. COE is seeking volunteers to serve on the Board of Directors (four vacant slots) and on the Nominations Committee (one vacant slot) in 2009.
Please read through the requirements below and submit your application to COE Headquarters no later than March 14, 2008.
COE Board of Directors
The COE Board of Directors will have four vacant slots available in 2008. If you are interested in becoming a potential candidate, please read through the following requirements. If you are eligible, download the application and submit the necessary documentation outlined below to COE Headquarters on or before March 14, 2008.
Requirements:
COE is an independent, self-financing, non-profit organization which exists for the benefit of all those who use the Dassault Systèmes family of products as a product definition tool. The direction of COE is the responsibility of the Board of Directors. Directors are elected at the COE annual conference from a slate of candidates put forward by COE's Nominating Committee.
- A candidate must be an employee of a member organization of COE that is in good standing with COE.
- A candidate's primary job function must be Dassault Systèmes PLM Solutions related.
- A candidate must have significant COE experience as defined as at least one year experience in a leadership position with COE, such as a Board Member, PIC or DPC Chair; or Chair of one of the program committees such as: Conference, Workshop, Marketing, Membership, etc.
- A candidate must state in writing a willingness to serve on the Board of Directors for a term of three years.
A candidate's employer must commit in writing to support the candidate's responsibilities to COE for a three-year term. These responsibilities include:
- Attend the COE annual conference and Board meeting at one other COE event related to the employers business each year at the employer's expense.
- Attend two Board of Directors meetings outside of events per year at COE expense. These meetings are typically scheduled in the summer and winter.
- Contribute additional time and incidental resources necessary to perform the functions related to the position of COE Director (Time commitment is typically 2-4 hours per week).
COE Nominations Committee
The COE Nominations Committee will have one vacant slot available for the 2009 election process.
If you are interested in becoming a potential candidate, please read through the following requirements. If you are eligible, download the application and submit the necessary documentation outlined in the requirements below to COE Headquarters on or before March 14, 2008.
Requirements:
A candidate must be an employee of a member organization of COE or individual member that is in good standing with COE and uses the Dassault Systèmes family of solutions for production purposes.
- A candidate's primary job function must be CATIA Solutions related.
- A candidate must state in writing a willingness to serve on the Nominations Committee for a term of four years. The first year serving in the capacity of "Alternate Member" and then following three years as a full Committee member.
A candidate's employer must commit in writing to support the candidate's responsibilities to COE for a four-year term. These responsibilities include:
- Attend the COE annual conference.
- Contribute additional time and incidental resources necessary to perform the functions related to the position of Nomination Committee Member. This includes but is not limited to: approximately ten 60-minute conference calls per year, time spent outside the calls recruiting potential candidates for the COE Board of Directors and Volunteer positions (Time commitment is typically one hour per week).
