COE Member Spotlight with Steve Lynn

1. How long have you been a member of COE?

I've been attending COE conferences since Fall 1987.

2. What is the biggest benefit to being a member of this organization?

Two benefits 1) seeing the issues and workarounds others are having, and 2) meeting and building new friends with common interests.

3. Was there ever a specific problem that occurred at your job that you were able to utilize COE members to solve?

Yes, learning how to do 3D digitual mockup.

4. Did you attend the COE 2007 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair? What do you enjoy most about attending this event?

Yes I attended this year and enjoyed hearing from IBM/Dassault executives and fellowshipping with other attendees.

5. Do you attend the COE Industry Workshop – Aerospace & Defense? If so, how does the education and information differ from the COE Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair?

Yes I attend the Aerospace & Defense workshop. The major difference is that the executive view is missing from the fall workshop.

6. As a committed member of this association, what aspects of COE would you like to see grow in the near future?

More use of the Web site, more customer presentation, more near-term functional presentations from the main stage and a real COE magazine.

7. Based on the current status of the marketplace, where do you think COE should focus its energy and resources in the next few years?

I think COE should move towards PLM processes and technologies including integration and collaboration between people AND applications because customer interests is on the PLM processes, not just the technologies.
