Western Michigan RUG Meeting
The Western Michigan RUG recently held a meeting on May 12, 2016, in Grand Haven, MI. There was a full day of presentations from Dassault Systèmes, Mentor Graphics and Elysium. Dassault Systèmes presented on topics such as Additive Manufacturing, Skeleton and Smart Modeling and Knowledgeware Automation.
Mentor Graphics presentation included FloFED which uses Cartesian meshing technology, recognized as the most efficient framework for simulating fluid flows, heat and mass transfer. In addition, the meshing process can be automated easily for even the most complex CAD geometries. When coupled with an immersed boundary cut-cell approach, this form of preprocessing inside FloEFD gives unprecedented speedup in the overall design process.
Elysium Inc. presented on data translation for CATIA V5 and NX. Elysium currently supports data exchange between 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V4/V5, Creo Elements/Direct, Creo Parametric, Inventor, NX, NX I-deas, SOLIDWORKS and other multi-CAD systems and specializes in technology that optimizes geometry such as geometry simplification, widely used by CAE users.
