COPS (CATIA Operators of Puget Sound) Update Spring 2005
CATIA Operators of Puget Sound is a fairly new RUG and we have had 4 official meetings in the last year. We have had a wide range of Speakers from various companies, including Microsoft, Intel, Rand North America, MSC, and many others. The topics range from new hardware coming to the market place as well as various new capabilities available in the Dassault Tool Suite. Our meetings run 4hrs, 12:00PM – 4:00PM and usually on a Wed.
The officers representing the COPS RUG are as follows:
| President: | Mike Brown – Boeing |
| Vice President: | Troy Niehaus – Rand North America |
| Secretary: | Mike Clare – Boeing |
| Member at Large: | David Bailey – Consultant |
| Member at Large: | Rick Klingle – Boeing |

We would like to thank engineering .com for building and hosting our website. Stu Stark to be specific.
We have had many hosts for our meetings such as IBM, Rand, Hexcell, Boeing, and our last meeting was held at Rillos Engineering. We have had gracious hosts that volunteer their time and energy to help make COPS a successful RUG by providing networks and some snacks (always a good thing) to keep the members happy.
The next COPS meeting will be held in the summer of 2005 and if you are reading this article and are in the Puget Sound region please keep an eye on our website for meeting updates. We too are always looking for interesting presenters (like COE) and are willing to have you submit the topic you would like to share and determine how it will best fit our members needs.
We would like to have more user presentations as we move forward and grow our membership, but currently most of our presentations are coming from member companies that have the ability to demonstrate tool capabilities. Fortunately we have had access to COE Board Member Tom Crume to present the upcoming COE events to our members and that has been a valuable part of our meetings since it lets our members know what type of activities and benefits they can receive by attending the full COE conference or the discipline specific conferences.
These are the current happenings with the CATIA Operators of Puget Sound and remember to register at our website if you are interested in attending our meetings. It is all free and the knowledge you will gain is invaluable to you and your company.
