What is a RUG?

A RUG is a formal association of users from local (regional) companies that utilize the Dassault/IBM CATIA family of design, simulation, and product lifecycle software applications.

What are the benefits of a RUG?

  • Provides for an interchange among participating companies of best practices and ideas in the use of digital technologies

  • Present selected topics from the national COE conference

  • Stimulate ideas for creation/development of improved design/manufacturing processes

Proposed Method of Dissemination

  • Periodic one-day conferences at one of the participating companies
  • Presentations from participating companies, software/hardware vendors, and industry expert guest speakers

Announcing the Creation of North Texas CATIA Operators EXCHANGE Regional Users Group NTCOE RUG

An organizational kick-off meeting was held on Nov. 6 to address the following objectives:

  • Develop an organizational charter to establish the format of the RUG (Regional Users Group)

  • Identify time, duration, location, and frequency of meetings

  • Choose the conference format and content

  • Nominate officers for the rug and establish an election date for officers

The initial meeting was held at Vought Aircraft Industries Inc. 9314 W. Jefferson Blvd. Dallas, Texas.
