Boeing 787 Dreamliner Will Start its U.S. Run at Logan
Boston Globe (03/02/12) Johnston, Katie
Boeing's 787 Dreamliner jet will launch its first commercial U.S. route from Logan International Airport next month, opening new long-distance destinations from midsize markets such as Boston. Japan Airlines will start flying the 787 nonstop between Boston and Tokyo on April 22, and Logan officials hope that the fuel-efficient jet's further adoption could open new routes to China, India, Greece, and Brazil. The jet was designed digitally, without physical mock-ups, using software from Dassault Systemes. The Dreamliner is now the fastest-selling wide-body plane in commercial aviation history, according to Boeing, with 60 airlines and other customers so far ordering 873 Dreamliners.
