Dassault Systèmes has bought SIMPACK, based in Munich, Germany. SIMPACK has worked with Dassault in the past, but Steven Levine, senior director of portfolio management for SIMULIA at Dassault, says the company was interested in reaching a higher level of integration between SIMPACK, the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and SIMULIA simulation. Levine adds that SIMPACK has the added benefit of high fidelity model representations. SIMPACK has 130 customers in the energy, automotive, and rail industries, including BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, and Bombardier.
