Are you looking for hands-on training and live demonstration sessions for the latest Dassault Systèmes solutions? Be sure to join us at COE U, part of this year’s Annual Experience & TechniFair in San Diego, April 15-18.

COE U hands-on training sessions run during the conference, Monday through Wednesday, with more than 20 sessions available. Sessions are available when you register online for the 2018 Annual Experience & TechniFair. There will be 20 seats per session available at a first-come basis prior to the event.

Set up and Use Easy & Guided Simulation Vertical Applications (#6026)

Bringing simulation early in the design process has many benefits, allowing design engineers to size design propositions and compare the alternatives for faster decisions, and detect flaws early in the product development process. However, this can be a challenging process to ensure high fidelity simulations for validation. Learn about an out-of-the-box, XML-based solution and requires minimal to no scripting, facilitating straightforward configured Vertical Application construction.

Designing Better Products with CATIA’s Engineering Optimizer Workbench (#6127)

COE Hot Topic: Generative Design

The importance of weight and/or product performance optimization is recognized in most industries. Optimally designed product enhances the end-user experience, at the same time reducing the product’s weight and cost, and improving its performance.

This session introduces the CATIA’s Product Engineering Optimizer (PEO) workbench, which provides engineers with easy-to-use tools that can be used to optimize any type of data. Topics covered include model preparation, selecting optimization objective and free parameters, defining design constraints and more. This hands-on session will demonstrate an interactive exercise in optimizing the weight of a sheet metal bracket. Each attendee will receive a handout containing the steps performed during the exercise.

Getting Started with SIMULIA Non-linear Analysis (#6128)

COE Hot Topic: Generative Design

Dassault Systèmes’ SIMULIA portfolio has an industry-leading suite of products for realistic analysis and simulation. While the linear structural analysis workbench in CATIA is well understood and widely used in the industry, the non-linear analysis option is commonly overlooked by designers.

This session focuses on the non-linear structural analysis workbench (ANL), which seamlessly integrates the ABAQUS technology within CATIA. Topics covered include starting the SIMULIA workbench, setting up non-linear material properties, selecting element types and more.

This hands-on session will demonstrate an interactive exercise simulating insertion and subsequent removal of a plastic fastener into a steel panel. Each attendee will receive a handout containing the steps performed during the exercise.

Hands-on Session on Plastic Injection Mold Simulation in 3DEXPERIENCE (#6023)

Experience first-hand the seamless flow of data on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that enables Enterprises to keep integrity of the Digital Thread from Design to Manufacturing. In this session, attendees will see a full overview of the Digital Thread. Attendees will also have the opportunity to practice, hands-on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the first portion of the Digital Thread: how requirements are connected to physical designs. See how rapidly a requirement change can be propagated, allowing a seamless update to the physical design.

In part two of this Digital Thread hands-on lab, attendees will have the opportunity to practice, hands-on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the second portion of the Digital Thread: the virtual build. See how the entire manufacturing process can be molded in the virtual world, allowing a seamless update to the manufacturing process based on an engineering change to avoid costly delays in production.
