Become an expert! The COE Annual Experience & TechniFair presents a unique opportunity for customers to hear from fellow experts across the customer, partner and Dassault spectrum. In addition to important industry and product updates, attendees benefit from real world customer case studies, best practices sharing sessions, hands-on training, and the opportunity to engage one-on-one with peers to solve problems and share ideas.

2017 Annual Experience attendees can expect to:

  • Receive hands on training in a 3D Experience platform, able to take it back to your company and share the experience
  • Learn more about tools that are used in you companies but might have a differently perspective in other companies
  • Network with other end users that have the same interests

Session topics to be covered include:

  • Model Based Definition Engineering
  • CATIA utilizing parameters to streamline your design
  • CATIA and SIMULIA for SimulationCatia Design Automation VBA
  • ENOVIA EBOM and MBOM creation
  • CATIA V5 and V6 Catalog Creation
  • ENOVIA protecting your IP
  • ENOVIA – Inter-Divisional Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

Can’t-Miss Information Management Process Sessions at the 2017 COE Experience & TechniFair

DIY ENOVIA PLM Migration (Reality or Fiction)

If your company has not recently completed a PLM migration project, then one is coming up whether you know it or not and you should be prepared.

One of the first most important topics will be to “Do-It-Yourself” (DIY) in house, or with and outside company or one of system vendors involved. Often times a system vendor will create a mystique around large migration projects to either talk you out of migrating most of your data or to talk you into a paying for a large migration project. As with home DIY projects there are significant savings and advantage to doing your own migration. However, there also can be substantial also risks. If your team is has the time, is moderately technical, and has a good understanding of the systems in use or planned, there is no reason you can’t approach this as a DIY in house project.

At this session, you will learn about some of the major obstacles that occur when planning and executing large or small migration projects. You will also gain practical advice, best practices examples, and even budgeting tips for approaching a migration project.

Too often organizations leave migration concerns until the end of a project. By then they are out of both money and time, and this results in rushed, poor quality migrations which can have ramifications that last for years. Migrations can be hard, and are often painful, but they don’t have to be!

Real world examples and customer use cases will be presented.

Bring your tough questions, and let us show you how to make migrations easier.

Lessons Learned in the Transition from 2013x to 2015x

This session will discuss the challenges, benefits and learning experiences from the transition of the P&G PLM platform from 2013x to the 2015x 3D Experience Platform. Key lessons learned in the areas of Data Migration, implementation of the IP Security Framework, Change Management, Search, and performance will be shared. The platform upgrade included CATIA, SIMULIA, ENOVIA, ENGINUITY, Exalead and numerous integrations with SAP. The lessons cover requirements definition, design, development, testing and executional excellence. The team will share what they learned as they delivered their largest upgrade to date, on time and with a vertical start-up.

3DEXPERIENCE coexistence with CATIA V5 for Design Review

Embraer is an aeronautical company based in Brazil, delivering products for Commercial and Executive aviation and Defense systems, with 16 years of CATIA/VPM usage.

Embraer started in 2012 to evaluate the benefits of migrating to the V6 platform. A set of proof of concept projects took place to measure the results and gaps. They included global collaboration for electrical and interior design, and CATIA V5 coexistence.

In October 2016 Embraer deployed the first 3DExperience production instance for the Embraer E2 aircraft. The solution comprises VPM V4 with CATIA V5 coexistence upward flow for reviewing.

In this presentation, Embraer will share the lessons learned during this project, providing valuable information for other companies with similar challenges

ENOVIA V6 Roundtable

This roundtable contains experts from the ENOVIA V6 realm with deep experience on deploying and utilizing this product. Attendees are encouraged to bring any ENOVIA V6 questions they have to this session.

What Model-Based Definition Really Looks Like

Learn about some of the challenges you will come across when authoring Product and Manufacturing Information inside a 3D model, also known as Model-Based Definition. The standards that we have followed for the last 50 years were written for a 2D drawing in mind and have yet to address some of the gaps between a drawing and a model.
