CATIA’s Composite Part Design (CPD) workbench has an industry-leading suite of tools for the design of laminated composite parts. This session focuses on the Solid-Slicing design methodology now available in the CPD workbench.
The Solid-Slicing design method is a novel technology enabling a quick way to create ply geometry from solid models. This is particularly efficient for reverse-engineering of solid parts into laminated composites, as well as for re-engineering composite parts originally designed as solids in a 3rd party CAD software.
This hands-on session will demonstrate an interactive exercise in design of a composite panel. Each attendee will receive a handout containing the steps performed during the exercise.
