Convert the .prt files into a neutral format, such as (step, iges)
and open the files in Catia V5. The worry is that you may get only
a dump solid (without history) where you can still add or remove
material to the part.
Thanks Navin for your suggestion. But is there any possibility of
migrating from .prt to CATIAV5. that is any possibility of getting
the parametric model.kindly give your suggestion.
You can try with "feature recognition" option that allows you to
convert simple features such as holes, pockets etc...but still this
has limited capabilties. may be you can try with your prt
file....Other than this...I am not sure whether is there any
third-party tool ever exists.
There are many third party softwares which can convert a parametric
model from one software to another.Accu-trans from translation
technologies is one of them. And it works fairly good if the
features are simple.one big plus is no need to create sketch .and
simple fillets are also taken into account.the area where it fails
is transferring of volumes . but for this also it has an
interactive one which can be corrected.
