Text Engraving

Text Engraving
I have a eval copy of a text engraving VB application from IBM. It seems to do what people want and what we have been asking for. I have documentation and contact info if anyone is interested.

Disclamer: I am not endorsing this product, getting anything in return, or in any way benefitting from anybody using this application.

Samarinder,

In a nutshell, the desired text is typed in a panel from the engraving app, along with a list of fonts to choose from. Enter in your depth of cut, feedrates. You have to create a design axis on the CATPart where you want to "hang" the start of the text. Enter in your depth of cut, feedrates. Create an empty Profile Contouring operation with your engraving tool. Select the machining axis and you are done. A new Profile Contouring op is created with all the parameters you entered along with toolpath. Works very well for flat parts. Not intended for surfaces. I gave Steve Beach a demo of it at COE.
