Some of the basic functionality which is no longer available in V6.

Hi All,

Some of you have noticed ................

some of the basic functionality which is no longer available in V6.

I Think it is best to keep this topic in the COE Members area.

I will start with a few hot problems I see.

1. The CATIA to Vericut interface does not work for V6
2. The Toolbars have Been replaced with a new clean and tidy pulldown, but many power users, and myself think this will slow us down.
3. You can not use your excel tool+holder spread sheet and script to make assemblies.
4. There is no clean way to save processes incrementally, and restore it. There is 3dxml, and propegate as new, but on the restore side.... things need to be relinked.
5. The help files do not have any models.... like the V5 help files.
6. Oh .... and a biggie.... you can only open ONE, and only one instance of CATIA. You can open several processes, but not see your reference seed ppr in one window and your new ppr in the main monitor.

There is a start....

In regard to  for saving 100s of hours in NC-programming............... what we are seeing is tool building.... where we want exact naming..... is a time killer.

Each cutter creates 6 things..... 

1. The  cutter,
2. A 3dcatpart for the cutting part of the tool
3. A 3dcatpart for the non cutting part of the tool,
4. A representation for The  cutter,
5. A representation for The 3dcatpart for the cutting part of the tool
6. A representation for The 3dcatpart for the non cutting part of the tool,

Naming all that takes time.

It would be good to have a form in the tool builder panel with a Name prefix for all 6 items
