COE 2014 PLM Question 3::  Can Dassault finally work on small but important long requested V5 enhancements, to give Value for the NC programmers that pay their Annual license charge?

Background information:   Large breakthroughs are fine for V6 but do V5 users no help whatsoever.  As you sit at the annual COE conference, please take into consideration that over the last ten and more years…. The “NC machining power users” that are doing have years of “top Ten” requirements. Many have been solved. Many have not.

These are not insignificant requests… but the Top ten each year, cherry picked from dozens of requirements.  Now, in 2014…. As COE leadership Requested for new top tens from the users, the replies have been…... Please fix “the previous top tens” before taking on any new breakthrough topics.

CATIA is good. In some cases outstanding and amazing in others. . In many cases, simple fixes are ignored by Dassault. Truth is…ten years later.. many requirements have not been touched. The COE leadership hears the frustration of the users Some people ask….. how are people getting all these parts machined without all these enhancements?  The answer is workarounds, VB scripts for the fortunate, and labor intensive solutions for other topics.  CATIA is like a Ferrari, with a 8 liter petro tank. It can get you there, but can be frustrating to have to stop and fill the tank so often…. Oh…  And… the heater button turns on the air conditioner.
