Introduction of New Member

Hello COE members.  My name is Rob Tynmann.

The company I work for invested in CATIA/ENOVIA/DELMIA V6R2013x about a year ago.  My site was task with baselining the system with the plan of a company wide roll out in 2015. I primarily use CATIA and DELMIA for my job in the Manufacturing Engineering Group.

I have been a Subsriber for a couple of months and have digested all I can from the public MFG forum.  WOW....there sure is a lot of talent here.  I do get the impression that most of you are V5 users and have not seen much for us V6 folks.

I just wanted to stop in and say hello and I look forward to sharing what I can and asking a few questions.

HI Rob,

Nice to meet you.  I am a V6-er from my breif time at Bell Helicopter.

You can see some of my V6 comments on the V6 forum.   It should be interesting to hear what YOU have to say, now that you have digested all our comments

Any chance you are going to the conference?

Dave

Good morning Dave.

Not going to the conference this year.  I hope to present to Management next year the value of our drafting, design department, and myself to attend.

V6 has been a steep learning curve for me.  Not only are we learning a new and complex system but we also elected to learn how to create and modify post processors using IMS software.  I have been tasked to learn the whole system and then teach the other 4 programmers at our Brookshire site.  Of course all of those programmers have their feet dug in with GIBBS and Mastercam so they are resisting as much as their Manager will let them.

I like what I have found in V6.  Both the mill and lathe package.  The software is powerful yet behind the times in some aspects. It is just a matter of finding the required work arounds to get what we need.

Thanks for replying.

Hi Rob,

Question: Can you migrate multiple Cutter assemblies from in work to waiting for approval to Approved

Can you migrate the assembly, and have the sub componenets and 3dparts, and representations migrate also?  in V6-2011, we had to migrate reps, and 3dparts  first, one at a time.

Thanks

Dave

Dave, I have not be exposed to changing the maturity of tools and assemblies yet.  I forwarded your question on the admin here at work and awating a response.
