No longer possible to assign formulas to Title and Description?

No longer possible to assign formulas to Title and Description?

In V5, I used to be able to assign formulas and relations to the Description and Title fields in the properties of an object.  Now, I don't seem to be able to.  Can anyone confirm?

I suspect this may have to do with the IP Mask Filters and/or the way collaboration is handled, but I'm still learning...

Maybe you could map your formula to a parameter and use a reaction on update that change the Title of the part? Didn't test, just an idea.

I have found no way in EKL to get ahold of the Title, either.  There is a method to list all the attributes of an object, and it didn't come back in that list.  And I tried getting ahold of parameters by string, using the mask filters.  But still no luck...

I also investigate on that topic in the past with no success.
I suggest to post this question on KBE or EKL forum; most probably someone from DS can answer you.

I should have clarified that I was trying to do this in a 3DShape.  It's easy enough to accomplish with VPM objects.  You have the  V_ mask filters.  And if you know the mask, you can find the actual value name. (V_Name is actually the PLM_ExternalID concatenated with the revision, for example)
