“Diffusion of Innovation” applied to Modeling & Simulation – what can we learn from Social Science research?

Four billion times a day, Procter & Gamble brands touch the lives of people around the world. At P&G, our people work to make sure those brands live up to their promise to make everyday life just a little bit better, now and for generations to come. Modeling and simulation is a vital tool to assure we can meet these promises. Predicting consumer experience of everyday products is usually a multidiscipline problem requiring contributions from mechanical, chemical, biological and other scientific domains. These interactions, by their very nature, are multi-scale ranging from the chemical bonds that determine interface behavior and material structure to the large scale manufacturing systems used to produce products around the world.

Where are they today? An industry update from Boeing, Wichita State University Innovation Campus Update and Joby Aviation

As Boeing continues to implement the tools and processes built around the Dassault Systèmes 3DX environment and apply them to the Additive Manufacturing value stream, this presentation will discuss capabilities and processes where 3DEXPERIENCE is meeting business needs. Additional discussions about emergent requests for enhancements and capabilities can be shared to further understand workflow and processes specific to the industrialized AM value stream. The presentation will include examples of results from the use of FGDE and Manufacturing Process Planning and how the digital thread is supported throughout the lifecycle. Finally, we will discuss the approach to training a large workforce in disruptive additive design methods and rapidly achieving proficiency by our engineering workforce.

WSU’s Innovation Campus, home to the 3DEXPERIENCE Center. Wichita, has had a lot of development take place since first being introduced three years ago. Higher education has changed over the years and WSU has created an applied learning environment where students can work, live, learn and play. In addition, this philosophy allows us to introduce the 3DEXPERIENCE platform down to all levels of education especially the high school level.

The facilities available on campus have evolved and new partners have taken up space on the Innovation Campus. Several projects have been performed at the 3DEXPERIENCE Center and it enables a variety of industries to come and experience the platform and have access to technologies without having to make huge investments. This session will provide an overview of where the Innovation Campus and the3D Experience Center is today and where we are going tomorrow.
