Virtualizing Dassault Systems CATIA and SolidWorks with Cisco UCS Servers and NVIDIA Quadro vDWS
Track: Customer Connection
Session Number: 1198
Date: Tue, Feb 26th, 2019
Time: 11:45 AM - 12:35 PM
Dassault Systemes produces the world’s leading engineering applications. Fairly recently, Dassault has begun certifying virtualization architectures for the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE platform applications. Virtualization of these mission critical applications increases the security of intellectual property, enables long distance collaboration, reduces CAPEX costs compared with physical workstations and reduces OPEX costs compared with maintaining these same virtual workstations. Cisco Systems, Inc in partnership with Citrix Systems, NVIDIA and VMware have collaborated to certify our joint solutions for delivering the best user experience for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform application suite. In this session, we will discuss exciting new performance findings when virtualizing Dassault Systemes CATIA and SolidWorks on Cisco UCS Rack Servers with NVIDIA’s new Turing architecture graphics processing units with NVIDIA Quadro vDWS. We will discuss the nuances of architecture and sizing that can make or break a virtualization effort. Attendees will take away a thorough understanding of key success factors for virtualizing different types of CATIA and SolidWorks users.
