How to build Robot by myself in DELMIA v5r14 ?

hi. very happy to find this sit. i have a question.
In "Device building" , I can build the Weldgun and other device ,but how i can build the Robot in this space.
in addition, how can i update the RobotLib ? there are many new robot ,but the catalog don't has them.

Very nice you can use device building to build weldgun etc. It means you can use mechanism easily. so please try to build your robot and define all commands you need you will get your own robot. anyway , you can also try to use Robot Task Definition.

I'd never used that so all above is my suggestion only. :-)

Add to your catalog i prefer you to read some help on catalog.

but when i build the robot like the gunweld, the Catia regard it as device not the robot. you can use the button
'robot task definition' -->'set tool' ,select the robot which build by myself ,it appear at the 'device' not the 'robot'.

I've ask Mr. Pavan(Dassault Engineer), He said that robot building is a very difficult job even he himself can't achieve so much, so his suggestion is use the existing robot placed in \Delima path\startup\robotlib\device.

When I get some idea I will post to you.

hehe, if the robot can not be find in the robotlib , what can i do ?
if ABB give me a new robot ,how can i use it in delmia ?

"You have to build a Inverse Kinematic Device for this purpose.....
Please use the Command "Inverse Kinematics" which is available from R15.... "

Above sentance I recieved from D/S engineer, so V5R14 we still can't build robot ourselves I think.

To update the robotlib , I still don't know but I can try to use it. when I get it I will post to you.

Now i show you how to update your robot lib, as follow steps:
1. Open the Robotlib.Catalog from the V5 Installation Directory ...\intel_a\startup\Robotlib\Catalogs\DEVICES using File -> Open. (Before doing this....you may have to remove "ReadOnly" permissions on "Catalogs" Directory)
2. Use the Command "Add Family" from Chapter Tool Bar
3. Enter haohao(you name it) and Click OK
4. Now Double Click on Yantai node in the Tree
5. Select "Add Component" Command and Select "Select Document(device)"
6. Select Your Robot CATProduct and Click OK
7. Save and Close the Catalog
8. Now you have your Robot in the Catalog which you can use it...

I want to use SET TOOL icon in the workbench of ROBOT TASK DEFINITION, but I can not select the gun in help sample or a device which I made.
May you advice me please?

if you want to assemble a gun to the robot,the gun must be build in "device building"!

Iam samad, i had similar problem. i cant load new abb robot in delmia. first i download abb model from site and i did every thing you said.

i could put in catalogue but it dosnt work!! i dont know which of files should be selected.
