Can we analyze a neoprene rubber seal

Can we analyze a neoprene rubber seal
Guys !

I'd like to know if it is possible to run a FEA with CATIA for this exemple :

My problem is similar to a pressure tank (metal).  A neoprene rubber seal is between the tank and the lid. The lid is bolted to the tank. Can I analyze this with the CATIA FEA module ? I'm pretty sure my tank will resist the pressure but I don't know about the seal. Can we see the seal deformation with catia even though it is not a isotropic material.

Thanks !

Yes. With the ANL or AFC license you can model hyperelastic materials and do large deflection. Without ANL, you are limited to small displacement and linear material.

Hey Thanks !

This is a good news... I saw that this ANL licence is new with R20.

Do you know if the AFC and ANL does the same job ?

Since ANL is included in V5 I guess it would be easier to operate ?

Thanks

Your welcome.  For reference, ANL actually became available in R19 SP3.

Regarding the difference between AFC and ANL...  AFC can do everything that ANL can and more.  AFC requires a full install (and license) of Abaqus whereas ANL does not (it's a subset).  In short, ANL contains the the standard solver capabilities rather than standard and explicit, as would be in AFC.
