How to fix Duplicate Curves in IGES output
Hi All,

I am saving Catia V5 to IGES and after reopening the IGES file, I get lots of duplicate curves around the edges.

Is there any special setting to control this?
or Is there any other command to extract all the curves from all solids/surfaces in one shot?

Thanks,
Samarinder

I make a guess.
Erase (hide / show) everything but the surface.

I THINK that if you have curves that make the surface and the surface, you get both on IGES
That is the way it was in V4.
We would no show everything but the solid, or get way too much stuff in IGES

Try it and let us know

Dave,

I am trying to extract full wire-frame out of a dumb solid. And I am doing it with Mastercam right now. There are also other cad systems which can extract the entire wireframe out of the solids in one click. I hope Catia has same functionality. So as a workaround I was saving the entire model as iges wireframe and trying to bring it back inside Catia.

Thanks

Hello Samarinder,

The link provided no longer works for me. Would it be possible to explain the solution here?

Thanks,

When you say, extract wireframe, I assume this means you want just the surface geometry? If so, go into the GSD workbench and use the Extract command (on the operations toolbar). Select point continuty as your extract option. When you click the face of the solid, it should extract all of the faces. If you want curves only, it works the same way. Hopefully, this will help you. :)
