Themal Analysis

Themal Analysis
Hi guys !

I'd like to do a thermal analysis with CATIA V5. Can we do this with CATIA and the GPS + ATH licence ?

For a simple exemple. I have a cube, I'd like to apply a thermal property on only one face and see what would be the temperature on the opposite face but I cant figure out how to do this. I tried to do a solid sewing to add a face to apply the thermal load but it doesn't work.

Is it possible to add a thermal load on one face.

Can we see the temperature gradient after the analysis is done ?

Thanks

Kevin

Hey Kevin, Yes, to determine a temperature distribution given: temperature, convection, conduction, or flux, ATH is needed. You can add thermal loads via: face, point, edge, or body (steady state or transient). Subsequently you can import this into GPS for a linear stress analysis or into ANL for nonlinear stress analysis. Cheers, Greg

Thanks ! I guess I'll have to try the ATH licence.
