I wonder if V6 does offer a better way (than V5) to manage multi shape parts like spring, washer, harnesses. The problem is not new, and have many aspects (std part/ design part; left/right configuration...)
Did you find a solution with V6?

Hello Eric,
Unfortunalety we don't have so far a better solution in CATIA V6. Indeed, even if we are able to add several 3DShapes under a Product, we are not yet able to drive the active/inactive ones. DS R&D is working hard on that multi-representations subject and there should be an enhancement in a future CATIA release.

Looking to manage a single part Number and revision with two different representations, As Installed, and As manufactured.
Scenario 1: Imagine the part is a foam pad. The manufactured 3d shape is flat. When the foam is installed the foam is sandwiched between two curved shapes conforming to the shapes. The installed foam needs to be represented with a different 3d shape.
Scenario 2: The As Manufactured part requires a drill post-processing step. As Manufactured 3d representation is without the hole. The As Installed part needs a 3d representation with the drilled hole.
Any update on this topic?
