I've created a Part from an assembly.
I then merge all the bodies into a single body.
I capy this single body to a new file.
I then save this new file off as STEP.
When I reopen the STEP file, the file opens as a mutlibody solid.
I would like it to open as a single body file.
How can this be done?

Not sure why you are trying to do this but it would be helpful to
know what your STEP Setting for Export are set to:
Application Protocol:
Assemblies:
Assemblies physical structure:
As these will have the most impact to what you are trying to
do.
Have you considered just saving the assemble as WRL?

I've attached an image that shows the export settings.
I have not considered WRL since STEP is what was requested.
But, i'm curious, why would WRL be 'better'?
