plunge milling retract

plunge milling retract

V5-6 Release 2016 SP3
get really erratic retract speeds when plunge milling
sometimes at retract rate (set for 100)
other times at machining rate (set for 7)
it changes when I change Finished cutting progress value, sometimes (and should not)...
plunge milling is great...
when it works...

Also seem to have no control of lateral retract direction...

HI Russ,

Thanks for the post.

Is it possible for you to make a small part and process that reproduces this defect?

When we provide a set of files to R&D that clearly shows a bug, R&D developers can diagnose it immediately, and many times can propose a work around until a fix can be deployed.

Thanks

Dave

Thanks for the response.
I will ty to put something together when I have some time
Honestly, for now, I may use a drilling MO
Thanks again.

Russ,

Try the sweeping MO

You can add a .005 pull away and axial in the Retract macros

It works for multiple passes.   Make a simple sketch, and extrude it  up in Z for the drive surface
