An error occurred when installing 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x FD03 (FP.CFA.2042)

Hello guys, I have some question about installing the 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x on Premise...

First, I install the 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x Golden edition in my computer, it was successful installed.

And then, when I want to install the R2021x FD03 (FP.2042) HotFix, an error message pop up, showing that the file couldn't find the path (please see the attachment below).

I don't even know what going on about this error, can someone explain what this error means and how to soulve this ? Thanks.

I have done some software update, JAVA, NET Framework, Microsoft Visual C++, all updated, but it still doesn't works, this error keeps poping up.

I've try to re-download the HotFix software, that doesn't work either.

My colleague's computer and mine have the same level, he successfully installed but I failed.

The following is my computer equipment and 3DEXPERIENCE version:

Software: Microsoft Windows 10 Version 20H2

CUP: Intel- Core i7 9700

GPU: NVIDIA Quadro P620

3DEXPERIENCE Software: 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x Golden - AllOS (3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps)

HotFix Version: 3DEXPERIENCE R2021x FD03 (FP.2042)

When you unpackaged the HotFIX Media, ensure that you have the Numeric Directories (1, 2, 3, and 4) stored in the same root path.  ALSO, the packaging on the media may require you to move the Directories so they are properly located relative to one another.  

It seems the media is packaged with unnecessary levels in the directory structure:

Default unpackaged path looks similar to below:

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\1\Software\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\1

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\2\Software\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\2

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\3\Software\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\3

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\4\Software\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\4

You will need to move the second layer numeric folders to a Shared Root directory similar to below:

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\1

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\2

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\3

..\Part_3DEXP_NativeApps.Windows64\HF_NativeApps_3DEXP.HF4.Windows64\4

This should alleviate the issue.

an easy way to maintain the extracted structure:

1) Highlight ALL .zip files downloaded

2) Right-click, unzip + Extract to Here

This option maintains the proper heirarchy and extracts into one main folder.  Then search in the main extracted folder for setup.exe and execute that file.  If multiples show up, ensure the proper setup.exe file is executed (validate what folders it is in).  Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, when executing that exact routine I get the results described and necessitate the steps mentioned above with 3DExperience Media.

I suppose it could be a result of settings in 7Zip but I have not been able to tweak them in such a way that they are unpackaged without needing the manipulation afterwards.

can you get your colleague's extracted folder to a network drive, thus you can execute the same as a test?
