Is a PVR a lighter version (in terms of memory) compared
to the actual CATProduct in an standard assembly? With a previous
employer I was used to create PVR along with the design package,
being this Assembly/Installation with the associated CATDrawing.
The whole package was part of the engineering release. CATProduct +
CATParts +PVR+CATDrawing. I think the PVR is a light CAD version of
the Catia model in the product structure, allowing to save memory
when creating large drawings with lots of CAD information. Also the
PVR was the file sent to the supplier in charge of such
package.
Can somebody confirm those benefits when using PVRs and if
there are other benefits, feel free to post them.
